WHY ARE WE DOING IT

The Collaborative Expansion Foundation is hosting the "What Do You See When You See Me?" competition and The Heart of Seniors Award to shine a light on the true essence, wisdom, and contributions of seniors. This contest isn’t just about recognition—it’s about changing perceptions, breaking stereotypes, and celebrating the voices of older adults who have shaped our communities.

By awarding $10,000 to a Senior Advocate who goes above and beyond, the Foundation is investing in those who make a real impact in seniors’ lives. It’s about empowerment, appreciation, and advocacy—ensuring seniors are seen, heard, and valued.

At its core, this competition is about building bridges between generations and reinforcing that aging is a journey of strength, not a limitation. Through storytelling, shared experiences, and recognition, the Collaborative Expansion Foundation continues its mission to support and uplift the senior community.

WHERE IS THE MONEY IS GOING?

The donations to the Collaborative Expansion Foundation are directly impacting seniors by funding programs, advocacy, and initiatives that enhance their quality of life. Here’s how the money is being used:

1. The Heart of Seniors Award ($10,000 Grant)

A portion of the funds goes toward recognizing and supporting a Senior Advocate who goes above and beyond to improve the lives of older adults. This grant empowers individuals who work tirelessly to provide essential services, fight for seniors' rights, and create meaningful change.

2. Senior Support Programs

  • Healthcare Navigation & Financial Guidance – Helping seniors access affordable care, understand Medicare, and manage retirement finances.

  • Wellness & Longevity Initiatives – Funding programs that promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being, from fitness and nutrition to mental health support.

  • Housing & Essential Services – Providing assistance for seniors struggling with affordable housing, transportation, and daily necessities.

3. Intergenerational Education & Advocacy

  • "What Do You See When You See Me?" Competition – Breaking age-related stereotypes and promoting a society where seniors are seen, valued, and included.

  • Community Outreach & Education – Hosting workshops, forums, and campaigns to educate the public on aging, senior rights, and resources available.

4. Expanding Access to Resources

Every dollar helps fund efforts to connect seniors with the help they need, whether it’s legal aid, caregiver support, social engagement opportunities, or emergency relief.

This is more than just a contest—it’s a movement to honor, support, and uplift seniors, ensuring they receive the respect, care, and opportunities they deserve.

Would you like this framed for a fundraising campaign or social media post?
